Changing copy timeout (VCC Terminal)
Posted by , Last modified by Matthew Ryan on 04 January 2013 07:01 PM

The idle timeout is the time from the last copy (or since logon if no copies have been done) to when the terminal will automatically log out. It is adjusted separately for each device in PaperCut.

To change the timeout:

  1. Log into the PaperCut web interface
  2. Choose Devices
  3. Click on the device you want to change
  4. Choose Config Editor (Advanced)
  5. In the Quick find box enter secs and press ENTER
  6. This will show the two timeouts you can change (after changing the values press Update all to save them):
  • ext-device.copier-timeout-secs - How long to wait until logging out while no copying occurring
  • ext-device.vcc.copier-warmup-secs - How long to wait for first copy to occur

You will need to repeat this for each device you wish to change.

It is suggested to set both timeouts to the same value. Values between 60 and 120 seconds are reasonable defaults.
